CONCEPT

SOUND DESIGN + COMPOSITION

Having been inspired the immersive Sound and Light shows at the Al Wasl dome at Dubai Expo, I decided to revisit a pitch I submitted for a project earlier in the year. The brief was to create a generative soundscape of constantly evolving, ever changing music and sound. Using Ableton and Cycling '74 Max/Msp for randomisation and follow on actions - along with banks of ambient drones, pads and sounds I created - the session would in theory play for for hours and you would never hear the same thing twice. Using L-Acoustics L-ISA to spatialise the multichannel audio complimented the ever changing sonic environment. Ultimately I lost out of the pitch but the next step, had I been successful was to use environmental data such as time of day, ambient temperature, body movements and light to gently change the tonality and key of the music. Even the sounds of the insects in the background to reflect the their circadian rhythm. SIX POINT SOUND were commissioned to create two immersive compositions - a generative ambient piece and a user driven linear score. Utilising L'Acoustics L-ISA technology in both the compositional stages and real-time delivery. ​ In collaboration with Ombeond. Commissioned by Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival in coordination with Digital Catapult.

ELECTRIC TAPESRTY

SOUND DESIGN + COMPOSITION

ELECTRIC TAPESRTY - An experimental prototype, Electric Tapestry is a future-gazing, audience-driven AV experience. An interactive generative data-artwork derived from heritage content related to, in this first instance, Brighton. SIX POINT SOUND were commissioned to create two immersive compositions - a generative ambient piece and a user driven linear score. Utilising L'Acoustics L-ISA technology in both the compositional stages and real-time delivery. ​ In collaboration with Ombeond. Commissioned by Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival in coordination with Digital Catapult.

SPATIAL COMPOSITION

This is a personal composition specifically written for spatial audio systems. This is a binaural render of "A Field In Wales" made using Ableton and L-Acoustics L-ISA Studio .

SOUND DESING + MAX/MSP PROGRAMMING

SIX POINT SOUND were commissioned to create an interactive sound installation that drew inspriation from the brands marketing campaign in a joint collaboration between british designer J.L-A.L and Japanse DJ collective Soundsports. The insatllation was based around a Max/Msp patch that captured realtime footage of a user and sonified movement via a wavetable synthersiser to a diredctional overhead speaker. In collaboration with KITU Design.
